We look forward to seeing you onboard
October to December
Electra is a fully enclosed boat with heating, so you’ll be comfortable whatever the weather. The canal is less busy in autumn and through the big picture windows you’ll see lovely colours on the banks and wildlife on the water. And, if you’re lucky, a kingfisher or two.
There’s lots to enjoy in the comfort of our heated saloon, with your choice of hot (or cold if you prefer) drink in hand. We can’t wait to welcome you on board!
On Friday lunchtimes there’s our popular Fish & Chip Lunch cruise – book early to get your place!
On 20 October there’s one last chance to Explore the Canal at Great Linford, a cruise with a walk led by a Parks Trust guide. Then a week later in Half Term there’s a choice of Little Legs, Kids One-Hour, or Eyespy cruises – book early for some family fun.
From 15 November to 18 December Electra gets festive, decorated inside and out for the season. There are Mulled Wine & Mince Pie public cruises every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and Season’s Greetings Winter Charters every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Perfect for those pre-Christmas get-togethers.
Almost all cruises run from Electra’s mooring at Campbell Wharf – click here for arrival and parking directions.
Some cruises offer discounted tickets for Children (age 2-17) and Families of four (2 adults/2 children or 1 adult/3 children).
Please make sure that you book a free Infant ticket for anyone under the age of two.
If you need wheelchair access on a public cruise, you must book an additional free wheelchair ticket. This ensures we’ve allocated the extra space and that we’re ready to help you aboard in advance.
If there are food choices included in your cruise ticket, make sure you take your pick.
Please note: bookings close three days before the cruise departure time to allow our volunteers to get everything ready for you.
For queries about Electra or for more details on our public cruises, please email our volunteer team – firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: Electra is run entirely by volunteers, so please allow at least 24 hours for a reply – we don’t have an office and we’re not always at our desks.
If you have specific questions about purchasing public cruise tickets, or to buy tickets over the phone, call the BMK Community Boat ticket helpline – 01946 848847
(Lines are open from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, calls are charged at normal rate. Tickets purchased by phone can be emailed or posted for an additional £2.50).
Cruises are run in line with public health guidance. We sanitise the boat before each cruise, have good ventilation, and use an air filter.
